Please continue to work on the "Handshake" problem.  You can challenge yourself and try to figure out an algebraic equation for any number of people at a party.  (Its based on the pattern we discussed in call."

Also, try and see if you can figure out the backgammon problem!

know how to find equivalent ratios.  (you have to be able to prove it using sound mathematical reasoning. )

Study the painter problem and the lemonade problem

Study the Bob and Allen problem we did in class.

Homework

Today we worked on the Alan and Bob problem.  For homework I would like students to change the last sentence to....Alan had moved only 2/3 as much as Bob mowed. This will change the whole problem so that they can practice exactly what we did in class today.   I will put  a copy on my blog.

Thank you very much for making teacher appreciation week so special.  Thank you for the breakfast on Monday, the flowers on Wednesday, the lunch on Thursday and all the gifts on Friday.

Homework

Choose a group: It could be a family, a team, a collection of some sort, ect.

Write a part to part ratio, a part to whole ratio, and a whole to part ratio.  Make sure to label them.

Start looking back at homework on multiplying and dividing fractions for Monday's test.

TEST NEXT MONDAY

You will have a multiplication and division of fractions test on Monday.  It will be 4 or 5 story problems that will be very similar to the homework we have had in the past.
