Test Review For Next Tuesday (I changed it from Monday!)

Concepts to Know:

Perimeter:  How do you find the perimeter of a square or rectangle.  Page 301

Area:  How do I find the area of a square or rectangle.  Page 304 and 305

What happens when perimeter is held constant?  What happens when area is held constant?
Study the Sharon and Brad Problems.

Area of a Parallelogram:  Page 306.  Why can I multiply the base X  the height to get the area.   If I gave you a Parallelogram on graph paper could you find the area in two or more ways?  (Study notes)

Area of a Triangle:  Know how to find the area of a triangle.  What if I gave you a triangle with a height of 5cm  and an area of 25cm.  Could you figure and what the base is?  (page 308)

Polyhedrons:  What is a polyhedron?  How do I count the faces, edges and vertices in a systematic way.  We will work on this tomorrow and Monday.

Geometry Test this Thurs.

Concepts to Know:

How to measure degrees with a protractor

How to create angles with a protractor.  Example:  Create a 37 degree angle

Know how to label lines, rays, line segment, parallel lines, intersecting lines, perpendicular lines and angles.

Know how to find the missing angle of a triangle.  Example:  45 degrees and 65 degrees are two angle of a triangle...How do you figure out the third angle.

How many degrees in a quadrilateral?  How can you prove it?

How many degrees in a triangle?  How can you prove it?

Know the difference between a regular polygon and irregular polygon.

Know how to draw diagonals and regions in regular polygons.  Also, know how many regions and diagonals are in any regular polygon and find the degrees.  For example: How many diagonals and regions in  a 15-agon?  How many degrees?

Know the properties for each of the quadrilaterals we discussed and took notes on in class.

Also, be able to compare their properties. For example:  A square is a rectangle.  Sometimes, Always or Never.   If your answer is sometimes be able to draw one that is and one that is not.       A trapezoid is a rhombus.  Sometimes, Always or Never.

See me if you need any help or have questions!   Use your notes and past homework assignments to study from.  Rework your homework problems.    Good Luck:)
