Vocabulary:  DUE. WED.  Read the story on page 16 and 17.   Read the definitions on page 18 and 19.  Fill in the vocab. words in the sentences.  Do pages 20-22.

Vocab.  DUE FRI.  Pages 23-25.........Quiz on Friday

Reading:  Continue to record your reading and answer the questions on the page side.

Scholastic News:  Back page due on Friday.  Underline where you found your answers.

Math: finish all three sheet pages 16-18.

Writing:  Work on ending...Then spend time on your beginning.

Writing:  Tonight you will revise your paper.  At least 1 1/2 pages of writing in total.  Really look at the heart of your story. You can work on new beginnings, new endings, drafts of parts of your story you are tinkering with...anything that makes your writing better.  Review your writing goals!  You have a lot of work to do-get started!

Math Test Next Tues.

Concepts to know:
whole numbers:

• know how to write them in word form, standard form, and expanded form.

• know how to find the place value in a number and also be able to tell the value of the digit. For example: 576,984 The six is in the thousands place. The value of the 6 is 6,000

decimals:

• know how to fill a customer order by recording a decimal. For example: 12 longs, 3 flats, and 12 cubes. (In this example you would also need to know how to make trades)    Another example  12 cubes, 3 longs, 6 flats

• Know how to build a decimal with bases 10 blocks. For example:  how would you build 1.098

• Know how to put a decimal into word form, expanded form, standard form and as a fraction

• Know how to compare and order decimals (You also need to be able to explain how you know which is bigger and which is smaller)

•Know how to find a decimal between a decimal. For example, is there a decimal between .23 and .24.... Also be able to explain how you know.
 
*Know how to add and subtract numbers using a number line or base 10 blocks.
