Absent Students

For those of you who are out this week, please download the Marina Problem and the Chargers problems and work on them.  Remember to use models and label. 

Homework

Math:  Finish both problems. Make sure to label, model, and explain.  If you finish early, you can study for test on Wednesday.

Vocabulary:  Pages 68-74 due. Wed
                     Pages 75-77 due. Fri.
                     Quiz Friday

Writing:  Make sure to grow at least 4 ideas from your notes.

Scholastic News:  Complete back page and underline answers.

Reading:  Record every night.  When you finish a book record in book log.

Writing:  Spend no less than 30 minutes finishing your flash drafts.  Remember if you do research, read the website or book and put in away. Then write.  Make sure to finish because I am looking forward to our lesson tomorrow.  You need to be done with your flash draft to move on to the next step.

Writing:  Finish putting your ideas of western expansion into categories with titled heading.  You may want to research some of your topics.  Tomorrow you will write a flash draft.

Writing:  Writing contest.  Write a letter to your favorite author.  How did their book influence you or change your life?   Due January 5.   $1,000 prize goes to the winner of the contest.  $200 goes to the finalist.

Math:  (For Tues.)   Pick three problems from page 80 and write a story for each.  Next, estimate using compatible numbers.  Finally, solve the problem using a picture or number pattern.  If you have extra left overs, how will that effect your overall answer?

A wire is bent to form a triangle with a perimeter of 12.6 cm.  How much wire would be needed to from 14 triangles?  Express your answer in meters.
