Homework

Six people show up at a small party.  To be polite, everyone shakes hands with everyone else at the party.  How many handshakes occur?  Explain and draw a diagram.

Down the street a larger party takes place with 11 people.  How many handshakes will there be at that party?

Optional:  Can anyone figure out an algebraic equation for any number of people at a party??  What if there were 10,000 people at a party?  What if there were "x" number of people at a party?
