Math: We worked on ordering fractions using 4 strategies today to help build fraction sense.
Please order the following fraction in order from least to greatest and then explain the strategies you used in about 10 sentences for each group. Have your notes by your side as you are doing this activity. Here are the fraction sets.
(8/9, 11/13, 7/3, 1 3/5, 8/10 )
(5/8, 2/5, 3/7, 4/9, 9/8 )

Could you please save these notes??? Should I come see you on this when I get back on Monday since we have a field trip Friday or just get the notes from you or a friend? Thanks. Julia ROEDIGER
Never Mind Mr.Shobar i got the pages.
Here were the notes if it help. 4 ways to compare fractions are.
same size whole, equal parts 3/8 5/8 5/8 is bigger since eights are same size...why not have 5 pieces instead of three.
same number of parts, different whole 3/7 3/8 eighths are smaller right? so since I get three pieces why not take the bigger pieces which are sevenths.
bigger or smaller than 1/2 or 1 whole 2/5 4/7 4/7 is bigger since 2/5 is smaller than 1/2 and 4/7 is begger than 1/2
distance from 1/2 or 1 whole 7/8 8/9 eight ninths is bigger since it is only 1/9 from the whole 7/8 is 1/8 from the whole which is a bigger piece away from the whole.
rather than find a common denominator this will build your fraction sense over time as you think about fraction in this way.
Sorry I still don't understand what you mean. Is there any way I can meet with you to review the matierial from the days I missed?
